Yard Waste & Compost

Yard Waste

Residents looking to properly dispose of yard waste can contact their trash hauler directly to ask about their yard waste services.  Residents can also take advantage of the two available compost sites in Anoka County:

            Bunker Hills Compost Site
            13285 Hanson Blvd
            Coon Rapids, MN

Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Compost Site
            7701 Main St
            Lino Lakes, MN

These sites are a great alternative for residents with grass clippings or leaves in amounts that are too large to compost or leave on their yard at home.  Both sites are open year round, weather permitting.  No charge up to four cubic yards. Proof of residency must be shown.

For maps, hours, or more information on fees and acceptable materials, please visit the website for Anoka County Recycling & Resource Solutions, or call 763-324-3400.

Tree Waste

State law prohibits putting brush and tree waste in the garbage.  Trash haulers may separately collect brush and tree waste for a fee.  Anoka County compost sites also accept tree waste and fees vary based on the amount and diameter of the materials.  Residents may use tree waste as firewood, or chip it for mulch.  There are also several drop-off sites that accept tree waste from Anoka County residents for a fee.

For more information on the disposal of brush and tree waste, please contact Anoka County Recycling & Resource Solutions at 763-324-3400.

To find an on-site tree service, which could include trimming, removal, chipping, and pick up, check your business services phone directory under "Tree Service" or "Ground Maintenance".
